Hello Everyone!!
I hope you all had an EXTRAORDINARY week!
What an interesting week this was. We had lots of adventures. We had a member dinner last week, at which I was forced to eat a TRILLION tostadas, and 20 pounds later, the member then gave me a massive sugar roll and hot chocolate for dessert. We get fed like Blue Whales up here hahaha.
We also got a little bit of snow, for the first time in a while, which was very nice. We utilized the opportunity to throw lots of snowballs and create lots of mini snowmen to put on peoples door steps. Elder Koster slipped at a doorstep and landed flat on his back, so that was funny. Elder McCoy almost got eaten alive by a dog yesterday as well. We were walking at night, right up against a chainlink fence, and a dog came sprinting over on the other side, and just about jumped over and devoured Elder McCoy.
A couple days ago we were driving to our area when we saw a plume of smoke in the air. So we followed it to investigate. Sure enough, there was a massive fire in someones backyard. Their trailer caught fire. We got there a solid 5 minutes before all the first responders, and firefighters. Elder McCoy and I made some green pancakes last night, which was absolutely hilarious, mainly because we cooked them so terribly.
This week I was able to focus my mind so well on the work, combined we were able to find 6 or 7 new people to teach. I found 2 through facebook, one of which we will be visiting sometime this week. We have talked to 460 people in the last 9 days through Facebook and in person combined. We are aiming for 1500 contacted people by the end of the month. Setting goals has caused some miracles. I am incredibly astounded by the gift of tongues, in just about 4 months, I am able to bear meaningful witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the language of Spanish. I still have much to work on, but I am so grateful for this special gift.
My favorite scripture from the last week or two that I have been able to share many times, is John 8:12. It is the words of our Savior, and it says this: “I am the light and the life of the world. He that followeth me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
If you feel you are walking in darkness, you know exactly where you need to turn. Our lives are dark hallways, that we wont be able to navigate without bumping into walls and tripping and falling. But when we turn the light on, the path is clear.
I love you all more than you know. Have an amazing week!
Elder Moulton
