Hey Everyone!
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas/New Years week! What a great time of year to spend with our family and friends!
Nothing too crazy happened up here over the holidays, I was able to virtually open presents with my family and have breakfast at the church with all the other missionaries in the zone. We’ve been putting in a lot of work here. Our area has not been worked at all, so we pretty much spend our days finding new people to teach as much as possible. Luckily we have had some good luck over this past week as we’ve been led by the spirit. We have found 5 or 6 new people since I last sent out an email.
Yesterday while we were out walking the streets, all within the span of 1 minute we… saw a dead dog in the middle of the sidewalk, then a dead bird, then I stepped in dog poop, then mud, all with the pungent odor of Marijuana in the air to bring it all together. It’s magical here.
But actually though, its super fun, and my companions are awesome, we are finding awesome people, and making so many new friends, and having life-changing experiences. It doesn’t matter where you are, it’s the people.
An important thing that I think more people need to understand is that you don’t JUST serve people and bring them unto Christ as a missionary. A mission is simply what prepares you to love, serve, and bring others unto Christ for the rest of your life. We will find so much joy from helping someone else, and that is my challenge for you all this week. Focus a little less on yourself, and try to think more about those around you. Anyone can be a missionary, you don’t need the tag to come closer to Christ, or to love and help others. It’s our duty.
John 8:12 – He that follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
I love you all so much. Keep being amazing. Help someone this week.
